Lighthouse mini campsite is a perfect base for exploring fairytale medieval hilltop towns in inland Istria and its picturesque coastal towns. Plan a trip on your own or book it with one of the travel agencies offering customised tourism activities.
With a pleasant sea temperature and constant winds, the area around the Cape Savudrija is ideal for windsurfing, scuba diving and adrenaline sports. One side of the cape is characterised by calmer waters, while professional windsurfers will be thrilled to surf in the open sea when the Tramontana wind blows.
As you probably know, Istria has extremely quickly earned its place among the most prestigious wine regions, and has been named the best olive oil region in the world by Flos Olei magazine. If you’re a true foodie, be sure to visit the renowned local winemakers and olive growers for a priceless tasting experience.
Savudrija is characterised by a rocky coastline with hidden pebble beaches, hanging boats along the coast and spectacular vistas that, when the weather is clear, include even the faraway peaks of the Alps. Such an ambiance calls for a romantic walk by the sea, morning jogging or cycling, or a picnic in nature. If you like cycling, follow signed bike trails to discover hidden gems of Istria.
Enjoy the view of the elegant Savudrija lighthouse located on the seafront, just a few steps away from Lighthouse campsite. It was built in 1818 under the auspices of Francis I, emperor of Austria. The lighthouse is still active and easily accessed, but it’s not open to the public.
