Enjoy the view of the elegant Savudrija lighthouse located on the seafront, just a few steps away from Lighthouse campsite. It was built in 1818 under the auspices of Francis I, emperor of Austria. The lighthouse is still active and easily accessed, but it’s not open to the public. According to a legend, Austrian Count Metternich dedicated the building to a Croatian woman who stole his heart. Unfortunately, she died before the works were finished.
